Responsibilities
Job Description
The EEVE Package Producer will work with our EEVE Correspondent and EEVE Package Editors to cover national political news-of-the-day. This position will primarily work 0900/et – 1800/et Monday through Friday. Extended hours for breaking news coverage (including weekends) to be expected.
This is a fulltime staff position.
Job Duties
Identify and gather DC focused elements for daily EEVE affiliate package
Use all available editorial, social media, and desktop tools to gather, view, log and communicate elements to correspondent/editor
Create package script template, script shell, advisories, live shot, and outcue requests daily
Respond quickly to breaking news
Work closely with correspondents, editors and other producers regarding story details and package production
Follow NBC News Standards guidelines and Rights and Clearances restrictions
Communicate with the News Channel Assignment Desk and Live Desk in Charlotte on package updates, issues, and coverage planning
This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of 3 days per week.
Qualifications
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree - journalism or communications
Minimum 2+ years broadcast package producing experience
Must be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays
Must be able to work flexible hours during major breaking news
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Package writing experience preferred
Strong editorial judgment and customer service skills
Interest and knowledge of politics and government news
Ability to work calmly in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
Strong work ethic and organizational skills
AVID Cloud UX proficient preferred
