Leo Burnett is looking for a talented Producer to join our team. This is a hybrid role based in our Chicago headquarters.

The Producer is responsible for translating creative ideas into project plans and deliverables across their specific discipline(s) of expertise. In addition to fundamental producer skills (listed below), Production at Leo Burnett requires solid critical thinking and analytical skills, as well as a passion for guiding creative ideas from brief through project launch. The ideal candidate for this position will have ambitions of work that pushes creative and technological limits and experience in delivering a variety of integrated projects completed on time, within budget and to Leo Burnett's ‘Best in the World Bar None’ creative standards.

  • Responsible for excellence in all day-to-day aspects of production including scoping and ballparking creative concepts, building detailed project schedules, managing project scope, researching and securing production resources, quality controlling all deliverables, maintaining project documentation and communication with holistic project teams

  • Able to work independently, sometimes on concurrent projects, ensure error free, on time and on budget productions all while meeting or exceeding creative objectives and expectations

  • Represents a craft expertise but responsible for actively learning, developing and further growing skills through exposure to cross- discipline productions

  • Responsible for ‘managing up’ to Executive Producer (possibly Senior Producer) and proactively seeking support/guidance when needed

  • Able to research, identify, select and negotiate production vendor partnerships (internal or external) based on both scope/budget/timeline of project and which partner is best suited to execute the creative vision

  • Responsible for supporting and participating in our efforts in cultivating a diverse, equal and inclusive culture of production within our work. Responsibilities include leading Leo Burnett’s partnership and commitment to Free the Work, instituting the agency’s Inclusive Casting practices and more

  • Communicates proactively Creative, Account Services, Production Ops and Media partners on all aspects of the production including milestones, deliverables and due dates to keep the production process flowing smoothly

  • Demonstrates the ability to both knowledgeably use and explain talent verbiage to larger Agency team

  • Responsible for building critical relationships and maintaining the agency’s reputation and standard of excellence with the external production industry

  • Stays on top of industry trends, craft-makers, techniques, directors, photographers, and new technologies and utilizes expertise and passion for production to inspire and educate the Department and Agency overall in an effort to elevate Leo Burnett’s creative product

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in production at an agency, production company or similar environment

  • Effective negotiation and positive-minded problem-solving skills required

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced creative environment

  • Ability to collaborate with internal co-workers and external clients and vendors at a variety of levels and across functions

  • A demonstrated track record of gaining trust and respect by consistently demonstrating sound critical-thinking skills and maintaining composure in stressful situations

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees

  • Highly organized with a keen sense of attention to detail

  • Exceptional initiative and follow-through skills

  • After-hours work and overnight traveling to shoots and post sessions required
