Strategist/Communications Strategist, Publicis Groupe - Est. Salary: $64.5K - $101.5K

Location: NYC

Job Description

About le truc

Publicis Groupe started up a new venture called Le Truc in February 2021. We tell clients that we’re the Groupe’s “creative collective” in NYC. Think of us as creative and strategic special forces for Publicis Groupe in the US, working with all the agencies in the network on their biggest, highest-priority briefs. Le Truc’s goal is to re-imagine how teams work together to solve creative problems – and push the agency world forward.

We’ve been behind all of Publicis Groupe’s major creative wins in the US,  including the launch of TikTok’s first major brand campaign. In a few short months, Le Truc strategists have worked on projects across automotive, beauty, luxury, hospitality, telecomm, retail, QSR and more.

This is an incredible opportunity to join the Le Truc monsters: To work in a new way with some of the Groupe’s best creative talent on its highest-priority projects on a huge range of brands & categories, all while continuing to hoe and build your skills.

What to expect as a strategist in le truc

  • Be the strategic go-to for Le Truc & Groupe agency teams on high profile, thoughtfully curated projects; high-priority and proactive briefs for existing clients, new business pitches, and some of the most coveted opportunities in the industry. You’ll be interfacing with clients, agency partners, and Le Truc teams to get to great work.

  • Work on several different projects at a time, shifting between project ownership and project contribution, depending on the size and complexity of the ask

  • Be a strategy generalist and shape-shifter, drawing upon business, brand, creative, communications, data, and social strategy skills to solve a wide range of strategic and creative problems

  • Be a “diplomat” for Le Truc, showing high-EQ leadership and collaborative skills when engaging with agency teams, and clients to solve problems together

What we’re looking for in a  strategist

You can craft inspiring creative springboards. Notice we didn’t say “briefs.” No templates here. A great, inspiring creative brief will kick off some of our projects, but not every project comes with an advertising-shaped solution. You’ll have the dexterity to analyze a problem, come up with innovative solutions, and kick off multidisciplinary teams in a way that best serves the challenge at hand.

You can roll up your sleeves with all kinds of creatives. Le Truc is first and foremost about breakthrough creativity in all its forms. Being a senior member of the team means being not only a key contributor or leader of the strategic work, but also helping shape the creative work side-by-side with creative teams and makers. From having a strong presence in brainstorms and internal reviews to supporting, nurturing and challenging the work, your job is to ensure our creative teams are inspired, informed, and armed with what they need to do great work.

You can apply your strategic smarts across a range of categories. On any given day, you could be pitching a business in one category and blowing out an idea in another. We’re looking for strategists who’ve cut their teeth in a few different categories, are quick learners, and can swiftly apply their experience laterally to a wide range of categories and problems.

You’re proactive and resourceful. Le Truc is still in its infancy and moves quickly, and every project is different. You’ll be comfortable with and adept at marshaling the data and resources available to you to help teams get to great work, from primary research to secondary to primary data sources to internal Groupe experts -- whatever the project requires.

What you have:

  • 2-3 years of relatable creative agency experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar experience

  • A passion for creativity and storytelling

  • Mastery of key strategic concepts and frameworks, deep understanding of creative brand communications, and a progressive point of view

  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment

  • True leadership qualities and a natural talent for mentorship
