Job Description

E! News is looking for a self-motivated team player to join the digital team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the entertainment space and be a master in all things pop culture. The Copy/Top Editor, E! Online, will be responsible for editing articles before being published to the site, making sure every story is in not only grammatically correct but also aligns with E!’s voice, tone and values.

Responsibilities

  • Edit news, TV and e-commerce articles and galleries for accuracy and grammar while also ensuring all content aligns with E!’s conversational tone. Additionally, copy edit social copy for accuracy, grammar and tone

  • Work closely with editorial team to help them grow and advance writers’ skills, helping guarantee there is a cohesive tone throughout the site

  • Offer feedback and trainings to help support the editorial team

  • Provide updates to style guide

  • Weigh in on headlines, making sure they are SEO-friendly while also grabbing the reader’s attention

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent

  • 5+ years experience in a deadline writing environment, ideally in entertainment news

  • Proficient in social media and SEO with a clear understanding of how the two influence one another

  • Excellent editing skills that align with the E! voice

Additional Requirements

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Salary range: $70,000 - $95,000
