Director, Creative & Content Operations, Blavity, Inc. - Est. Salary: $115K - $145K

Job Summary: 

Blavity Inc. is seeking a Director, Creative & Content Operations to manage the operations of all incoming owned and operated creative and content requests from brief to final distribution of assets across Blavity Inc’s portfolio of brands. This person will oversee a team of project managers, graphic & UX/UI designers, post-production video & audio and copy editors.

This department helps organize and evolve our creative and content processes, systems, resources, tooling, projects, and programs that enable our teams to scale and create world class content. 

Process planning, workflow efficiency, attention to detail and exceptional communication are second nature to this analytical and thorough leader and will have a proven track-record developing great teams, systems and excellent project management experience.

This role will report directly to our CBO/CFO.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and maintain processes to ensure the highest level of operational excellence for Creative Services team, including but not limited to, templatization of service proposals and project kickoffs, communications or analysis to ensure projects follow brand guidelines/standards and workflow management to improve efficiencies and capacity utilization

  • Oversee project intake & workflow, review creative briefs, assign resources and manage the production schedule for all incoming projects, including but not limited to: creative design, asset creation, copywriting, O&O video and audio production, O&O landing pages and microsites, 360 digital tentpole campaigns

  • Work closely with our VP of Creative Strategy and Creative Director to ensure efficiency and a high-level of communication across the creative ecosystem

  • Institute, monitor, and continuously improve upon project management systems, templates and tools across all creative & content operations

  • Develop effective and actionable reports to provide weekly updates to various stakeholders across organization

  • Evaluate outside service providers or contractors; provide direction in the development of tailored services and is responsible for resource allocation and approval of said contractors project to project

  • Optimize and maintain an ideal asset management system

  • Responsible for managing the team’s budget and KPIs 

Qualifications: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree

  • Required Experience

    • 5+ years of project management or creative operations experience

    • 5+ years of people management experience

  • Additional Qualifications:

    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and overall quality of output

    • Deep experience of implementing process improvements 

    • A healthy appreciation of GIFs and Black culture

Details: 

  • This is a fully remote role, occasional travel may be required. 

  • Candidates must be available to work at least 50% in alignment with the Pacific Time Zone. 

  • The salary range for this role is $115,000 - $145,000.
