What are you working on right now?

I just finished a digital magazine about passion featuring other artists in my community. Now I'm learning social media marketing to combine with my photography and graphic design.

If you could talk to your favorite creative for an hour, who would it be? Why?

I would love to talk to Ruth E. Carter because her practice as a costume designer is based on research and lived experience. I would love to talk with her about her process of finding information, how she uses this information to create something new, and how I could apply that to my own practice.

What advice would you give to creatives of color looking to pursue their passion full-time?

Never forget how much you love your craft. I think it's easy to get caught up in the pressures of the world or success and we may compromise our creativity or our vision. Never lose your passion and allows follow your gut. Doing what you love is the only way to find true success and fulfillment. Don't compromise.

How do you keep your creative drip going?

I try to go outside of my normal physical area and see something new. Take walks, travel, or go to different parks to make sure I’m not seeing the same thing every day.
